Fairview - a changing parish - a welcoming parish - a growing parish.

What kind of parish will we have tomorrow?
This question belongs to all of us because it is our parish and our future is at stake. All of us, as members of our parish family are invited to take ownership of the parish and its future.
How can we reach out and create a new sense of belonging?
We, the Parish Pastoral Council, would welcome your response and practical suggestions to these questions, whether you are old or young, practsing or non-practising, attending or non-attending, new to the parish or a life long member.
The Parish Pastoral Council believe that with greater involvement by the wider community, the parish can become even more vibrant and relevant, growing and caring, inclusive community where every person is welcome.
Much work is already done in the area of pastoral care, however each day new needs continue to emerge. To mention a few:
  • Communion to the sick and housebound
  • Reaching out
  • facilitation of Parish courses
  • Catechesis and Tuition
  • Neighbourhood retreats
  • Communications - newsletter, calendar, notice board, etc.
  • Facilitation of Prayer Groups
  • Liturgy Groups
  • Baptism Team
  • Parish Office
  • Care of the Elderly
  • Visiting the sick
Today, in our parish family, Christian faith and caring express themselves in many ways.
  • The love and time that people spend on their families
  • The looking out for and caring for those around us
  • The time given to the various parish groups that serve us all from childhood through youth and adulthood to old age
We praise God’s spirit who inspires this generous giving in us - a parish family.
